A full day rental is 14 hours, including cleanup.

If you need more time, a Three-day Package is available. 

The Three-Day Weekend Package allows you to use the Shriners Event Center for three days. Standard times are six hours on Friday, 14 hours on Saturday, and four hours on Sunday. These times can be adjusted with Event Coordinator approval. See the Pricing page for additional details. 

Hourly rentals of the Fireside Room and 1/2 Ballroom are available Sunday-Thursday. Hourly rentals of the Boardroom are available Monday-Friday. Hourly rentals of the full Ballroom are not available. 

Events must end no later than 11 p.m. You then have one hour for cleanup. Everyone must be out of the venue by midnight. If you need longer to cleanup, please end your event earlier.

No, you are allowed to use the caterer of your choice. All full-day rentals are required to use a licensed caterer to provide food. We are happy to recommend some of our favorites.

Our Ballroom can seat up to 500 attendees. The Fireside Room has a capacity of 200. Full building rentals may not exceed 700 guests.

We will allow clients using the Shriners Event Center on Tuesday-Friday to split their 14 hour rental time to decorate on the day before the event - unless that day is already booked.  Any time used to decorate will be subtracted from the event time. This option is not available for Saturday-Monday rentals. If you need more time, you may want to consider the Three-day Package. 

Clients are required to take trash to the dumpster, wipe down surfaces, remove all decorations, clean any spills on the floors, and return tables and chairs to the storage area.

Tours and meetings are by appointment only. We do not conduct tours during events.

To reserve a date, we require a $500 dollar non-refundable deposit and a signed contract. The deposit is $1,000 for a Three-day Package.

Yes, all events must have single day event liability insurance. This insurance must name the Shriners Event Center and El Katif Shriners as additional insured. This protects the renter and our facility. Call your insurance company to ask about options or look into an online provider, such as theeventhelper.com 

Yes, with the proper permit or by using a caterer with a liquor license. Talk with your event coordinator about what is required.

Yes, we have hundreds of free parking spaces in the front and back of our venue.

El Katif is a nonprofit fraternal organization that operates under the jurisdiction of Shriners International. The organization is based on fun, fellowship, and Masonic principles. Shriners International founded, and continues to support, Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shriners support their official philanthropy by volunteering at the hospitals, assisting patients’ families with transportation, raising funds, voluntarily serving on hospital boards and more. El Katif Temple was established on July 9, 1891.
